The 12 Tribes & Their Hebrew Names

Reuben – Ra’Uban

Simeon – Shamayn 
“Hearing” — Represents those who listen to Yahu’ah’s voice.

Levi – Lauy 
“Joined” — Tribe of priests, joined to Yahu’ah’s service.

Judah – Yahudah
“Praise” — Royal tribe; Messiah comes through this line.

Zebulun – Zabalan 
“Dwelling” — Blessing of prosperity and safe harbors.

Issachar – Yashshaqur 
“Reward” — Known for wisdom and understanding of the times.

Dan – Dan 
“Judge” — Called to bring justice among the tribes.

Gad – Gad 
“Troop” — Warrior tribe, strong in battle.

Asher – Ashar 
“Happy/Blessed” — Rich in blessings and abundance.

Naphtali – Naphthaly 
“Wrestling” — Swift and free, bringing good news.

“Son of the right hand” — Known for courage and protection.
